19 of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been achieved on hard courts

A revitalized Medvedev claimed his maiden championship for 882 days with a win over Corentin Moutet in the tournament final.

Medvedev, a ex- top-ranked player, has endured a torrid year, achieving just a single victory at the major tournaments and undergoing a meltdown at the American major.

The player's varied form on the professional circuit - and issues with his serve in especial - resulted in him exiting of the top ten and finally separating with long-term trainer his previous coach.

Presently working with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, Medvedev has steadily progressed in the last few weeks - peaking in a tightly fought competitive victory over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.

It is the player's initial championship since the Rome competition and first on a hardcourt after spring of that year.

The win also indicates he has secured 21 championships at twenty-one different tournaments.

"This marks the first occasion I have attended a event with my both daughters at once, so to get a championship is really nice," stated ranked player Medvedev.

"This victory is in tribute of my younger daughter Victoria, because the first title I won when my first daughter Alisa was born was for her."

The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his previous six title deciders, featuring in Halle in the past months.

The player's defensive play style and recurring outbursts on the tennis court had caused commentators to wonder if his capacity to perform at the top level was concluded.

However the player has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, attempting to approach the net and compete positively, reinforced by an better serve.

He came back from a break down in the opening set against the challenging opponent, securing four of the final five exchanges to go ahead.

Both players exchanged service breaks in the middle set before the challenger, striving for his first ATP Tour championship, gained dominance to push for a third set.

Moutet defended 4 initial opportunities in a close deciding set before the Russian broke to 15 to secure the win.

Appropriately, Medvedev earned the win with a shot at the net, with Moutet unable to manage a return after over two and a half hours.
